Last month, I featured Downtown Dubai and mentioned the Dubai Fountain as one of the best views to capture. I found the Dubai Fountain night show as the best one I’ve seen so far, but not anymore. I discovered a much more awesome fountain show last weekend at Dubai Festival City.
Dubai Festival City is business, residential and commercial district in Dubai. It sits right beside the Dubai Creek. Towards the end of last year, it opened a new attraction called “IMAGINE”.
Dubbed as “A Show Like No Other”, IMAGINE features water, fire, lights, lasers and surround sound. It also has the world’s biggest water screen projection and permanent projection map according to Guinness World Records. All of those were combined to create amazing night shows.
There are 2 stories alternately playing every hour. One is the “Stardancer”. It features a ballerina dancing in the outer space. With the calming music in the background, watching this show will make you feel you are floating in the galaxy. The story started with the dancer showing her skills (pardon for the shakiness):
Then she transferred to a whole building that is simultaneously showing a video. It turned out that she is more than just a ballet dancer.
The dancer/creator went on a real frenzy. Thus, creating a universe.
And here is the finale.
The other story is called “A Child’s Dream”. The show will take you to a journey in a young boy’s fantasies in his sleep. I personally enjoyed this one more. The music is upbeat, and features robots, airplanes, underwater creatures, and a lot of dancing.
There are so many things going on at the same time. I was turning my head back and forth between the fountain show and the building projection. I didn’t want to miss anything.
Both shows are amazing and very entertaining. If you are looking for a different experience, head to Dubai Festival City. You will not be disappointed.
After the shows I walked around and saw these amazing view of night lights Dubai Festival City.
Even after 2 years of staying in Dubai, the emirate still amazes me with every new place I discover. And with the number of destinations that I have yet to see, I sure hope that the amazement continues.
